a. Formed from two words, the first one being an adverb?, the second a dative-governing preposition (either air or ri). Dative object.

b. Semantics - the second word is semantically empty

c. Definite variants - còmhla ris a' chù, *còmhla ri a' chù, *còmhla ris cù.

d. Conjugated prepositions - faisg orm, *faisg air mi, coltach rithe, *coltach ri i, etc.

e. Possessive prepositions - coltach rim chù, coltach ri mo chù.
